FAQs

Installation, access, playback, licences and playlists: find the next step for your device.

Getting started

  • Does UTM Play include channels, films or series?

No. UTM Play is a player. Add your own playlist or one from a provider you choose, with content you have the right to access. The app licence does not include a playlist.

  • Where can I find my MAC and device key?

In the app, open Settings → My account and check MAC address and Device key. Use the details shown by UTM Play, not the address on your TV label. This screen also shows your app version.

  • How do I add my playlist?

Sign in to My playlist with your MAC and device key. Add the M3U/M3U8 address from your provider, or use Partner code with the details they supplied. Then reopen the app. If a reseller manages your playlist, follow the instructions on the page.

  • Do I need an email account to use the app?

My playlist uses your MAC and device key. Partner sign-in in the app uses the code and credentials for your playlist. Email and password access to the panel is for resellers and referrers.

Watching and updating

  • Which devices can I install it on?

Look for UTM Play in the store on your Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS) or Roku. For Android, Android TV and Fire TV, check the Platforms section. Store availability and features vary with the model, region and installed version.

  • How can I find a film or series?

Search by title, actor or director within your playlist catalogue. You can also sort films and series, save favourites and return to items in Continue watching. Results depend on the available catalogue and metadata.

  • Can I choose quality, audio and subtitles?

Yes, when the content offers other versions or tracks and the platform supports selection. These options cannot add a quality, language or subtitle missing from the source. Video formats and screen adjustments also depend on the device.

  • Are parental controls available?

The app offers parental controls with a PIN. Check the options in your installed version and keep the PIN private. Content classification and organisation also depend on the playlist you use.

  • What does UTM Flow do?

After access to a registered playlist fails, UTM Flow can try an alternative address available for it. This depends on service configuration and availability. Playback still depends on your internet connection, device and playlist provider.

  • A channel will not open or playback stops. What should I check?

Try another title in the same playlist, check your connection and reopen the app. If only one source fails, contact your provider. For UTM Play support, include the device model, app version, error message and steps to reproduce the problem.

  • How do I update the app?

For store-installed apps, check the store for updates. On Android installed by APK, use the app’s update check or the official download in Platforms. Versions can differ between platforms; you do not need to uninstall to check.

Activation and payment

  • Can I try it before paying?

Check the expiry date on your device and test your playlist, picture and sound before choosing an activation.

  • What am I buying when I activate?

A player licence for the MAC shown by the app. The activation page shows available packages, prices, durations and payment methods. Your playlist service is separate and remains your provider’s responsibility.

  • How do I renew my licence?

Sign in to My playlist, open Activation and choose an available package. If your licence is still active, the time is added to its current expiry date. Once payment is confirmed, reopen the app and check the new expiry date.

  • Can I use one licence on several devices?

Each device has its own identity and activation. Check the MAC shown in each app before buying. If your details changed or you replaced your device, contact support before making another purchase.

  • I was charged but activation has not appeared. What should I do?

Check the MAC used for the purchase and the payment status. If activation is still missing, use Contact to send the MAC, date and transaction receipt. Do not send your playlist password, device key or full card details.

Playlists, privacy and use

  • Why can I not edit a playlist?

A playlist may be protected, linked to a partner or managed by a reseller. My playlist explains its status. Read the notice before deleting: deleting a reseller-activated playlist may also remove its activation.

  • How do I hide my playlist server and password?

In My playlist, choose Protect. Once saved, the website shows only the username; the server and password are hidden and the playlist cannot be edited. To change the details, delete it and add it again. Read the consequences before confirming.

  • How do I delete my data?

Use Delete my data with your MAC and device key. The page explains what is deleted and what is retained, including your licence. Preferences and history stored by the app are local; check the app’s clearing options.

  • Can I use UTM Play in a business?

Use is personal and domestic. Unauthorised professional or commercial use is the user’s responsibility. Read the legal notice before using the app.

Reselling and referrals

  • How do I start reselling?

In Plans, compare active-device plans and credit packages. Check what each package includes and create an account to buy. The reseller panel uses your email and password.

  • Where can I find API documentation?

Sign in to the reseller panel and open the API documentation. It shows operations available to your account, with Swagger and a Postman collection. Partner codes and API access depend on the plan and account permissions.

  • How do referrals work?

Register through Refer and earn or use your reseller referral code. Check the commissions, discounts and rules displayed before sharing your link. You can track referrals in the panel.
